Makanadawa Forest located bordering to Kalani River and Makanadawa Forest specialised bird watching. There are 8–10 endemic bird species in Makanadawa Forest and you can spot the Black Eagle, the Trogon, Sri Lanka Orange-billed babbler, Chestnut backed owlet, the blue magpie, and the Red Faced Malkoha. Makanadawa Forest land extends 195 hectares and there are 3 waterfalls (Makulella falls, Makulala and Lenthriella Falls). There is a monastery and meditating Buddhist monks, but during the trekking tour, you will not visit this monastery as part of the tour because your visit might disturb to meditation programme. 

Trekking in Kithulgala Makanadawa Forest is about 3–5 Km and you will explore the Fauna and flora. It is scenic and nature trekking explore about the nature deeply.

    Yes! we do not add any traveler with your trekking tour because of the present health and safety issues

    No! trekking cannot do in late evening and because we need to end the trekking 5.30 p.m., we cannot start early morning like other forest because Makanadawa Forest opens at 7.30 a.m. and early morning walking path are wet. That’s why we are recommending start at 9 a.m. and last tour scheduled 3 p.m.

    If we start the trekking after the 3 p.m. we might not able to return before 5.30 p.m.

    Yes, of course! That mentioned breaks in the itinerary to indicate about breaks in between the Kithulgala Trekking tour and there is no restriction to take a break or take pictures while you are trekking.

    We want to keep you relax and add memories of your Sri Lanka holiday. So, you are feeling free to take the pictures as a souvenir and we are flexible always with our valued customers’ comfortability.

    Yes! we can offer local lunch or snack as you wish but meal cost does not include in the cost

    No! we do not recommend and it is not safe. When you are in the forest and in case if your valuable things drop or lost in the forest hard to find it again. So, our advice is better to keep them at the hotel. 

    If you are going to this in between the traveling, if transport belongs to you, then you can negotiate with your drive and entire responsibility up to you.

    We are highly recommending keep lightweight back pack. You need to bring only your personal sanitary items, couple of t-shirts & shorts or a couple of comfortable casual dress, swimming dress and your personal medicine.

    No! there is no such power bank facility with our crew members. You need to bring the own portable power bank, if you need to charge your electronic devises
