Trekking tour in Kandy Knuckles mountain range is a full day trekking tour in Kandy. Your trekking tour starts from top of the Knuckles mountain–Riverstone “Rakhinda” and it is a wonderful experience exploring the beauty of the Knuckles forest. Knuckles mountain range is the boundary of three districts in Sri Lanka. You will experience dry and wet areas of flora and fauna. Knuckles is the only forest in Sri Lanka you can experience all different variances in bio-diversity.
Knuckles Mountain Range (Riverstone) in between Kandy and Sigiriya. It belongs to Matale districts, and the Mahaveli Valley separated from the Central Hills it. Kandy to Knuckles Mountain (Riverstone) approx. distance about 55 Km and 2 hrs drive. you will meet the local Trekking guide top of the Knuckles mountain Range (Riverstone) and after the refreshing, you will start the trekking along the Knuckles Forest.
About the Full Day Trekking
You will start the trekking with professional trekking guide and you will visit the Radio tower, explore the picturesque landscapes and you will trek through the forest 14 - 16 Km. It is a 5–6 hours trekking trail and you will explore amazing, picturesque landscapes. In between the trekking you will enjoy local lunch in the forest. It is a medium level trekking trail and more than trekking you will enjoy the nature and many endemic plants, especially different wild rice plants and bird species in the forest. You will not feel tired or boring walk because every step there is something new thing to explore and stunning landscapes brings you thrilling and energizing keep walking in the forest.
Schedule
6.30 a.m. My Ceylon Adventures drive report to your hotel.
7.00 a.m. leave the hotel and proceed to Knuckles Riverstone - Rakhinda (2 hrs drive).
9.00 a.m. you will meet My Ceylon Adventures trekking team and refresh with cup of tea.
9.30 a.m. you will start the trekking from Rakhinda and trekking through the forest.
12.30 p.m. you will get the Sri Lankan rice and curry lunch in the jungle and rest.
1.30 p.m. After the lunch and refreshment break - continue the trekking.
4.30 p.m. you will return to Pitawala Pathana, ending trekking tour. approx. duration 6 hrs.
5.00 p.m. you will return to Kandy again and en route you will refresh with coffee.
