Overview

Kandy to Sigiriya cycle tour is a wonderful epic cycling tour in Kandy. You will cycle to Sigiriya through the pristine Knuckles forest and countryside. Kandy to Sigiriya cycle Tour starts from Matale (Rattota) 35 Km away from Kandy, skipping the hustle and bustle town area. 

From Rattota to Riverstone, top climbing is 17 km and elevation start from 300 meters to 1430 meters. It is the hardest part of the Kandy to Sigiriya cycle tour. Riverstone is the summit of Knuckles mountain range and it is the hardest part of the cycling tour. Once you reach to summit, you will do mini walk to Knuckles gap and explore the viewpoint of the Knuckles mountain range. After the refreshment break you will continue the cycle tour to Sigiriya through countryside.

Riverstone to Hettipola (bottom of Knuckles range) is mixed terrain and you will get mostly downhills about 24 Km and from Hettipola to Bakamuna junction is a flat terrain and you will explore the countryside and flat land landscapes. It is approx. distance 35 Km and once you reach to Bakamuna junction will get local spicy lunch or snack with hot tea. After the break, you will continue the cycle tour to Sigiriya.

Bakamuna to Sigiriya cycle trail based on mixed terrain and it is 35 Km soft flat terrain. You will explore the ancient irrigation system, paddy cultivation and people living style. While you cycling to Sigiriya, if you are lucky enough, you might spot wild elephants near the boundary of the forest and it is scenic and wonderful cycling tour in Sri Lanka. En route, you might experience the paddy cultivation and integration with local farmers.

    Yes! we do not add any traveler with your cycle ride because of the present health and safety issues

    Yes! we are flexible enough to delay maximum 30 minutes but we are highly recommending leave the Kandy early morning. Because during the day time hard to ride and we have to ride as much as possible distance before the 11 a.m. if we can reach to Knuckles bottom around 12 p.m. then much easy to continue the rest of the cycle tour

    Yes of course! That mentioned breaks in the itinerary to indicate about breaks in between the cycle tour and there is no restriction to take a break or take pictures while you are cycling.

    We want to keep you relax and add memories of your Sri Lanka holiday. So, you are feeling free to take the pictures as souvenir and we are flexible always with our valued customers’ comfortability.

    If you can start the cycle tour around 6 a.m. with packed breakfast, it is a fantastic idea and that would be much more comfortable to ride and you can reach to Knuckles mountain Bottom (Hettipola) around 11 a.m. we have experienced, if you get late to reach to Knuckles bottom 1 p.m. and you will spend at least 3 hrs. to reach the next point and you will get tired 😊

    Yes of course! We will bring some extra fruits to keep you comfortable and some sandwich (such as tomato and cheese). You need some extra energy ride such long distance. 

    There is no additional cost for those extra fruits and snacks!

    Yes! sometimes you might need to manage with nature. Because this trail based in remote locations and you might not able to access build WCs every place.

    Well Kandy to Nuwara Eliya entire tour based on climbing cycle tour and at least 90% of the trail is climbing. There are two suggestions, your partner can ride as much as possible distance with you and then after she or he can get into our support vehicle and you can continue it with our cycling guide. Partner can relax on the vehicle and it is always behind us for the support throughout the tour. Again, she can join with the cycle tour wherever comfortable place.

    Or your partner can get E-bike with extra battery and then partner can ride comfortably.

    Yes of course! Our supporting vehicle always behind the riders and we are using bring extra cycles and water for the cycle tour. We pleased to transport your luggage’s next point along with you and there is no any additional cost.

    Yes! every cycle tour we will carry out a few extra cycles for selection to our valued customers and we will keep additional cycles until the tour end because if your cycle did not function well in between the tour, we will try to fix it during the cycle tour but if we feel take the time to fix the bike, then immediately we will replace the cycle instead of spend the time to fixing the cycle. We do not like to keep waiting long duration and warm down the body. We are always looking forward to offering wonderful cycle tour in Sri Lanka.

    If you could not ride due to weather, low light or fitness issue, then you can get the support from our back-up vehicle and others can continue the cycle tour with our guide. We will drop you in Sigiriya as part of the tour, and there is not any additional cost for that transport.
    Or after the sometime later, if you are comfortable to ride again with your team or partner and you can join with the cycle tour again. We do not push you to end the cycle tour as expected duration. We will keep paddling with you until the tour end and at the end we are looking forward to offer wonderful ride that you spend money.

    Yes! fully refunded from our side because of the Weather or unexpected circumstance cancelled by My Ceylon Adventures side.

    We will keep post before the operation takes place in 24 hrs. If you did not receive any message from our end, that’s mean scheduled operation of activity takes place as it is.

    If you injured in a remote area, then we can take you nearest hospital by our supporting vehicle or we connected with 1919 emergency ambulance service and immediately we will arrange the Ambulance transferred to nearest hospital.

     

    All our guides and escort leaders given basic First Aid training. So, they will give the basic first aids until you transfer to the hospital.
